WHAT IS DIRECT INJECTION?

It is a fuel-delivery technology that allows gasoline engines to burn more efficiently, resulting in more power, cleaner emissions, and increased fuel economy. Direct injection is such a superior technology, that almost every major car manufacturer includes this as part of their engine strategy.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE

The E-TEC direct injection system delivers the precise amount of fuel needed, so you’ll burn less at idle and throughout the RPM range. So, when you hammer the throttle and instantly get on plane, you’ll really feel the power.

HASSLE-FREE

All Evinrude E-TEC engines have no break-in period, an auto-winterization feature and never needs an oil change. You’ll only need dealer-scheduled maintenance every 3 years or 300 hours.

CLEANER TECHNOLOGY

Produces fewer reportable emissions and requires no oil changes. Which means no worries about disposal or where the oil ends up. Every drop of oil in the fuel mix goes into combustion, not the air or water.

EVINRUDE FUEL INJECTORS

The fuel injector design requires less operating current to activate, meaning we are able to use smaller electronics which operate at cooler temperatures. Cooler running electronics equals more durability.

NASA INNOVATION

NASA-developed aluminium alloy enhances the Evinrude E-TEC engine’s durability two times stronger than conventional alloys. The space-age material significantly extends piston lifespan and enables higher wear resistance and greater stability at high temperatures. Engineers also saw environmental advantages from this alloy.
